The transition towards a society without animal experiments requires periodic reflection and adjustment. The NCad monitors the transition and provides policy advice on it. Since 2016, two policy advice reports have been published.

  1. Transition to non-animal research: on opportunities for the phasing out of animal procedures and the stimulation of innovation without laboratory animals (2016) The first policy advise report on the transition, prepared at the request of the former State Secretary for Economic Affairs.
  2. Evaluation of the NCad Transition Policy Advice Transition to non-animal research’ - Including a starting point for a follow-up Transition Policy Advice (2024) A reflective evaluation of progress since 2016, initiated in 2023. 
  3. From niche to norm – Transition Policy Advice: working together towards a society without animal experiments. (2026) The most recent policy advise report on the transition, prepared on the NCad's own initiative.
