What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR or AVG in Dutch)?
The GDPR sets out the main rules for how organisations should handle personal data. The GDPR helps protect your privacy. The same privacy legislation applies throughout the European Union. The Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in Dutch) monitors compliance with the legal rules on personal data protection.

Privacy policy
We use the privacy policy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The privacy policy is described in the privacy statement on the Ministry of Economic Affairs website. Here you can read how we deal with GDPR. For example, you will find information about the processing, exchange, and retention periods of your data. You can also read what rights you have.
Privacy rights under GDPR
You have various rights under the GDPR. For example, you have the right to inspection or rectification. If you would like to know what data we process about you or would like us to make an adjustment to your registered personal data, you can submit a GDPR request.

Data processing register
All processing of personal data can be found in the data processing register (verwerkingsregister in Dutch) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. This register contains per topic:
- A brief description of the types of data we process;
- Why do we collect this data;
- What we do with these data;
- Who is responsible for the processing.
This allows you to check whether we use your data in accordance with the GDPR rules.
