Prof.dr. N.L.U. (Nico) van Meeteren

As chair, I am committed to working with a strong committee team and a highly professional secretariat to deliver advice that is both forward-looking and realistic, while taking due account of arguments and sentiments. In the interest of society, the economy and science, we develop advice for future-savvy solutions: connecting Dutch ambitions and practice with European and international frameworks, stimulating innovation (from the 3Rs to NAMs, data use, meta-science and investor perspectives, etc.), and safeguarding quality and feasibility.

I also aim to further strengthen the NCad’s role, standing and appreciation for its work by engaging all relevant stakeholders, turning differences into constructive and productive, and - true to the typically Dutch ‘polder’ tradition - translating both consensus and dissent into concrete advice -whether solicited or unsolicited - so that we can move forward together, in a respectful manner.
