Ncad member Roger Adan will give a short presentation on our analysis of Dutch registration data on animal experiments over the last 10 years at the EARA conference in Berlin (Session 7: Flash Talks).
What are the most important trends and developments in research objectives and in which experimental fields most severe suffering occurs. What are the driving factors behind the trends? And where are the possible opportunities for refining, replacing and reducing animal testing?
Despite the increased attention for the 3Rs and the growing availability of alternative test methods, the total number of animals used for scientific purposes seems to remain relatively stable between 400,000 and 500,000 animals per year. However, the absolute number does not necessarily portray the complete story. mal experiments. In this presentation, Roger shares some of our most important findings.
