Since its foundation in 2014 the following advisory reports and Codes of Practice have been published.

Advisory report on genetically modified animals presents quality criteria

In June 2018 the NCad has presented its advisory report 'Genetically modified animals. Died or killed before use in breeding programmes or animal procedures - Part 2 Quality criteria' to the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. To improve the quality of generating and breeding of genetically modified animals in the Netherlands and to make all parties involved aware of the options to reduce the number of animals killed before use in breeding programmes or animal procedures. This advisory report presents quality and efficiency criteria that may contribute to reduce these numbers. The criteria provide tools to make well-motivated decisions.

Motivation by restriction? Starting points for controlled fluid and food intake in neurocognitive research from a 3Rs perspective

For neurocognitive research, experiments are performed, whereby animals must perform activities to obtain an insight into the activity in the functioning brain. To motivate animals to perform these activities, their fluid or food intake are restricted to such an extent that they become hungry or thirsty.

In the advisory report 'Motivation by restriction? Starting points for controlled fluid and food intake in neurocognitive research from a 3Rs perspective, the NCad provides starting points for controlled fluid and food intake during neurocognitive research for rodents and non-human primates (NHPs) from the perspective of the 3Rs.
