Careful use of fetal calf serum

In vitro researchers need access to solid models that provide reliable results. To cultivate cells for this research, fetal calf serum is often added to the growth medium. However there are several drawbacks to using calf serum.

Our research into the method of producing this product has led to animal welfare concerns regarding the slaughter of pregnant sows and unborn calves.
